Lauren Holiday is a retired professional soccer player who played as a midfielder and forward for the United States Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT) from 2007 to 2015. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, having won gold at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and the 2012 London Summer Olympics. She was a member of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup championship-winning team in Canada and the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup runner-up in Germany. Holiday played professionally for FC Kansas City in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and the Boston Breakers in Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS). She played collegiate soccer for the UCLA Bruins. Most recently, the National Soccer Hall of Fame announced that Holiday will be inducted as a member of its 2023 class at a ceremony in May 2023.  

Lauren and her husband, Jrue Holiday, established the Jrue and Lauren Holiday Social Impact Fund in 2020 to combat the systemic racism and socioeconomic inequality that continues to prevent Black communities from upward mobility. Through the JLH Social Impact Fund, the Holidays support Black-led non-profit organizations, including STRYV365, city-wide initiatives that seek to bring about equitable outcomes for Black and Brown communities, and historically Black colleges and universities of higher education. Lauren and Jrue have chosen to focus the majority of their support on the four cities they have personal and heartfelt connections to, Los Angeles, Jrue’s hometown and both his and Lauren’s UCLA college town; Indianapolis, Lauren’s hometown; New Orleans, the city where Jrue played for the Pelicans for seven years; and Milwaukee, where Jrue won the NBA Championship with the Bucks and the place they and their two children now call home. Lauren joined the STRYV365 Board in December 2022.
